E is for Eat
Eat at regular hours. Don't get too hungry. It is all a part of taking care of yourself. |
F is for First. What is a priority in today? My sobriety. I have to put it first or I don't have myself. First things first is my recovery. Without it, there is no me.

G is for Growth. Have I grown in recovery or have I stayed the same. Am I in a rut and do I need to risk and take the next Step. What Step are you on? Do you do the 1, 2, 3 Waltz lately. I can't, my God can, and just for today, I choose to let Him.

H is for Honesty. Not just cash register honesty, but self-honesty. Honesty is the principle of the first Step. Until I can admit to being an alcoholic/addict, no one can help me.

I is for Integrity. Walk your talk. Do the words coming out of your mouth match your actions. Do people see you and see recovery? Do the words go in your ear and out your mouth?

J is for Just for today
Just for today I will choose life by choosing recovery. I will take care of myself. |
K is for Keep coming back. Keep coming so you don't have to come back.

L is for Learn
Learn to listen, not just hear. Be open-minded and nonjudgmental. |
M is for Motive. Examine your motive and intent. His it for your Higher Good and the good of the whole, or you operating on Self instead of living a spiritual path of life.

N is for Nothing
Nothing changes if nothing changes. Use your program and work the steps and things will change in your life. |
O is for Open. Open your mind and your heart. My best thinking got me to the doors of recovery, I needed to be open to a new way of living.

P is for Practice rigorous honesty with yourself and others

Q is for Quiet. It was important to quietmy mind so I could hear the Good Orderly Direction I needed one day at a time. It says in Step Three, to listen for the quieet and in the stillness, say the Serenity Prayer.

R is for Remember When. Remember what it was like when you started using alcohol and drugs. Remember where your using took you. Remember what is was like detoxing. Remember when you came into recovery and how you felt. Remember what it is like in today. If today isn't the best day of your life, what are you doing wrong?

S is for Sobriety. It is more than being sober. It is soundness of mind. I have to remember that I need to apply the program to my mental, emotional, spiritual and physical well being.
