I haven't visited and read some of these newer sections...this is pretty interesting...what I received from this is my thoughts that though I grew up in a strict organized religious home...there was something that nagged at me that there was something missing...hence the journey into spiritual seeking... where I find that sense of what I can only call God can be called by many names whether Allah, Christ, Jehovah, spirit of the universe, source of love, etc....the spiritual words , for example in the bible , early in recovery...reading every morning with a group of women...brought me to the spirit out of the mire darkness of addiction...I came to believe many passages, psalms and such related so clearly to recovery ...when I look I find...and my God wants me to look, feel and share..also along the way there is that gift of joy! I can share my experience, strength, and hope, but it doesn't help the newcomer to be codependent. I can be there as support, but I don't write out their Steps, or give advise, or tell them what to do. It is a program of suggestions, and the best I can do is live my program and hopefully they will want to do some of the things that kept me sober. They have to find out what works for them. The best thing I can do for them is pray and put them in their God's Hands. |
