Cast your burden on the Lord

YOUR DAILY INSPIRATION

“Cast your burden on the Lord [releasing the weight of it] and He will sustain you; He will never allow the [consistently] righteous to be moved (made to slip, fall, or fail).” Psalm 55:22 (AMP)

This is another scripture that I hold so dear. So much happens in life, good and bad, that I know that I need the security that God’s Word brings to manifest in my life and so I read His Word and claim each of His promises as my own.

One of the things that I love so much about the Bible is that it is part instruction manual on how to live life and part love letter to us from God and each makes me grateful.

God, in His benevolence, loves us so much that He wants to carry our burdens for us. To me that shows real love and so when I read this scripture it makes me appreciate Him all the more.

Burdens, trial and tribulations are such awful things. They really are. Some are so vicious that they leave you wondering if you will ever recover; but I take comfort in the fact that I do not have to carry the load on my own. I can give it to God and He will sustain me through the storm with His love and His peace.

That image alone is enough to make my heart leap.

When I am casting my cares to the Lord, I actually do visualize myself lifting them up and throwing them up over my shoulder until they are gone. Now, I must admit depending on what is troubling me, I may find myself doing this over and over again until I feel the full weight of it gone; but the good news is that I do remain really persistent because I know from experience just how freeing it is to not be tied down by that weight.

Isn’t God good? This promise that He will bear the full weight of my burden if I surrender it to Him just makes me so thankful.

Beloved, if you aren’t already giving your burdens over to God, I pray that you will. I know from experience that He is waiting with arms opened wide to receive them from you.

Father, thank You so much for wanting to carry my burdens for me. Not only does it warm my heart, but it also continues to serve as a reminder of just how much You love me. Thank You. In Jesus’ Name, I pray. Amen

A burden shared, is a burden lightened. When you go to a meeting and share with 5 people, you only have to take 1/5 of it home.

Living below, in this old sinful world
Hardly a comfort can afford
Striving alone, to face temptation's sore
Where could I go but to the Lord?

Where could I go, oh where could I go?
Seeking a refuge for my soul
Needing a friend, to help me in the end
Where could I go, but to the Lord?

Neighbors are kind, I love them everyone
We get along in sweet accord
But when my soul, needs manna from above
Where could I go but to the Lord?

Where could I go, oh where could I go?
Seeking a refuge for my soul
Needing a friend, to help me in the end
Where could I go, but to the Lord?

Life here is grand, with friends I love so dear
Comfort I get from God's own word
Yet when I face this chilling hand of death
Where could I go but to the Lord?

Where could I go, oh where could I go?
Seeking a refuge for my soul
Needing a friend, to help me in the end
Where could I go, but to the Lord?
