FIX OUR THOUGHTS

Sometimes we get lost in our thoughts and we can think ourselves into something that isn't even real. If we could only be more aware of what we are thinking and change our thoughts to keep us from worrying, hurting, getting angry or feeling sorry for ourselves. It is possible. All we have to do is fix our thoughts on God. All we have to do is give Him our burdens and our issues of the world. He will keep us in perfect peace when we decide to fix our thoughts on Him.

Isaiah 26:3 "You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!" (NLT)

Dear Lord, help us to be more aware of what we are thinking. Help us to make the decision to fix our thoughts on You rather than the things of the world. Help us, Lord, to search for Your perfect peace by putting things out of our minds that we are worried, angry or sad about. We want to give You our burdens so You can lighten our load. We want Your perfect peace so we can live like You want us to live and do what You want us to do to make a difference. In Jesus' name. Amen.

If we aren't disciplined in reading God's word, it will be harder to fix our thoughts on Him.

When we don't follow God's will, our thoughts are not His but our own. Our own thoughts can lead us to sorrow, worry and pain.

When we study God's word, we will better know how to live for Him and stay focused on Him.

To fix our thoughts on God means to stay close to Him in prayer and by reading His word.

God's thoughts and ways are nothing like ours. That is why we need to fix our thoughts on Him.

Isaiah 55:8 "'My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,' says the LORD. 'And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine.'" (NLT)

Focus: We need to turn our thoughts and hearts to God if we want to know His will for us.
