Daily Quote, Bible Verse and Prayer - March

March 1

Quote:
Fall on your knees and grow there. There is no burden
of the spirit but is lighter by kneeling under it. Prayer
means not always talking to Him, but waiting before
Him till the dust settles and the stream runs clear.
~ Frederick Brotherton ( F. B. ) Meyer

Daniel 12:12
Blessed is he that waiteth.

Prayer:
O God,
Your blessings always pour forth more sweetly when
I have had to wait for them in prayer. Amen.

Quote:
What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny
Compared to what lies within us.
~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

Romans 5:5
Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God
has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who
was given to us.

Prayer:
My Savior,
The mighty gift of the Holy Spirit residing within me
is far greater than anything that has happened in my
past or what will transpire in the future. Thank You for
providing the way for me to lay down the burdens of my
past and to enabling me to face the future with courage. Amen.

Quote:
To love means loving the unlovable.
To forgive means pardoning the unpardonable.
Faith means believing the unbelievable.
Hope means hoping when everything seems hopeless.
~ G.K. Chesterson {submitted by Rev. Nancy}

1 Corinthians 13:13 NASB
But now faith, hope, love, abide these three.

Prayer:
Father,
Each day there is someone unlovable I need to love;
something unpardonable that I must pardon and something
unbelievable that I need to believe. This 24 hours, and each
day after, I must exercise faith, hope and love. Make me an
instrument of Your grace. In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen.

Quote:
Who is there that ever receives a gift and tries to make bargains about it?
Let us, then, return thanks for what He has bestowed on us. ~ Alphonsus Liguori

down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness,

Quote:
To put your trust in the world or in worldly men is to build your house
upon the sand, for today they will raise you aloft and tomorrow will
so cast you down that there will be no trace left of you, for they are
in all things unstable. ~ Sadhu Sundar Singh, Indian Christian missionary

Matthew 7:26 ESV
And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them
will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand.

Prayer:
Almighty God,
You are the only sure foundation upon which I can build my house.
Thank you for being strong and sure for me no matter what the storms
of life bring. Amen.

Quote:
It's easy to get attached to idols, good things inappropriately
adored. But when you have Jesus in the center of a room,
everything else only junks up the decor. ~ Chuck Swindoll

Psalm 4:2 NIV
How long, O men, will you turn my glory into shame?
How long will you love delusions and seek false gods?

name I pray. Amen.

Quote:
Everything we do is infused with the energy with which we do it.
If we're frantic, life will be frantic. If we're peaceful, life will be
peaceful. And so our goal in any situation becomes inner peace.
~ Marianne Williamson {submitted by Rev. Nancy}

Prayer:
My Lord,

Quote:
I have to work at my recovery and my faith. It does not happen
like magic. It is proactive, never passive. Like putting on the whole
armor of God; I can read about it and agree with it. But unless I
go through the motions of actually.doing it every day -- sometimes
many times a day -- it will do no good. ~ AlanH

Ephesians 6:14-18
Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth,
and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And
your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be
able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take
the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which
is the word of God: Praying always with all prayer and
supplication in the Spirit,

Prayer:
Father God,
Grant me a heart to diligently work at my recovery. And if
I become tired or discouraged, renew a right spirit within me.
In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen.

Quote:
If you board the wrong train, it's no use running along
the corridor in the other direction. ~ Dietrich Bonhoeffer

Romans 12:1-2
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of
God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy,
acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed
by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is
that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Prayer:
Almighty God,
When I surrendered to You, I boarded the train. I will take
my seat and refuse to run along the corridor in the other direction.
My old life is over. The new has begun. In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen.

Quote:
There is a big difference between hurt and harm. We all hurt
sometimes in facing hard truths, but it makes us grow. It can
be the source of huge growth. That is not harmful. Harm is
when you damage someone. Facing reality is usually not a
damaging experience, even though it can hurt. ~ Dr Henry Cloud

Psalm 138:7-8
Though I walk in the midst of trouble,
thou wilt revive me:
thou shalt stretch forth thine hand
against the wrath of mine enemies,
and thy right hand shall save me.
The LORD will perfect that which concerneth me:...

Prayer:
Loving Father,
Help me to discern the difference between hurt and harm.
Healthy growth can be painful... that is why they call it
"growing pains." Give me the strength and courage I need
to face that which lies ahead of me. In the name of Jesus
I pray. Amen.

Quote:
Each time, before you intercede, be quiet first, and worship God in
His glory. Think of what He can do, and how He delights to hear the
prayers of His redeemed people. Think of your place and privilege in
Christ, and expect great things! ~ Andrew Murray

Jeremiah 33:3
Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty
things, which thou knowest not.

Prayer:
Dear Father,
Help me to be quiet deep within my spirit before I pray. May I first
contemplate Your greatness and goodness knowing full well that You
delight in hearing my prayers. In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen.

Quote:
Measure not God's love and favor by your own feeling.
The sun shines as clearly in the darkest day as it does
in the brightest. The difference is not in the sun, but in
some clouds which hinder the manifestation of the light
thereof. ~ Richard Sibbes

Psalm 36:9 NKJV
In Your light we see light.

Prayer:
Loving Father,
My feelings are a poor indicator of Your mighty grace and
tender mercies. I can be so blind to You working in my life.
Open my eyes that I see. Open my heart that I feel. In the
precious name of Jesus I pray. Amen.
