Welcome Newcomers

All are welcome in recovery, especially newcomers because they are the lifeline of recovery for all of us. For most of us when we're new in recovery think there's not much we can contribute to recovery since we are new, and this just isn't so. All who are in recovery play a part and none more so than that of the newcomer for it serves as a reminder to all of us to why we are all here to begin with and why all of us need to continue to do the things that will allow all of us to be able to stay here in recovery. Plus when we're new it gives everyone else who is in recovery an opportunity to pass along what was so freely given to them, and this is what's been going on since the beginning of recovery, and the newcomer has always been a part of this. If you are new, we're all glad you are here, and you are the most important person that is among us, and we all need you just as much as you need us. Thank you from all of us who are in recovery for you being here, and please do keep coming back, you'll be glad you did, we can all promise you that.

So very true Rover

Thank you for posting this. Recently I attended a meeting where they said in the beginning that newbies do not share. I objected to this. No mater how long (35 yrs + now) I need to hear the newcomers. Others supported my objection and that was taken out of the format.
Besides, How else can we support them if we do not hear their needs?

Thanx again Rover

Thanks, I was told that I never want to forget where it is that I came from, and as long as I welcome the newcomer I never will.
