When I get overwhelmed by the number of tasks on my to-do list, I remind myself that the only way to get anywhere is step by step. And I cover the most distance in the journey of my life when I take a moment to decide which step will bring the greatest rewards.

"Often he who does too much does too little."

This reminds me that I need to be clean and sober. Sobriety doesn't happen with substitution.

So many forget, that no matter what the substance we pick up, it can lead to obsessive, compulsive thinking and leads to the same soul sickness, be it alcohol, drugs of any kind, especially those we abuse, food, gambling, busy/work, relationships, and for me, I needed Al-Anon because my addiction was rooted in my childhood, and I lived my life through my two ex-husbands and my son.

I had to be complete and whole within myself under the Care of my God. I had to learn to make healthy choices.
