Knowing It's Happened

We keep working the steps of recovery over and over, and nothing is changing. Our very small amount of faith is becoming depleted, but because we don't know of anything else that claims to be able to work for us, we keep trying. Then one day it happens, we stop fighting everything and everyone. Much to our amazement, we accept everything as being just as it is. It's finally worked for us, believe it or not. One of the first benefits of this new attitude is that all that anger we didn't know we had, or what it was from, is gone and we know it, we feel different. That new feeling is peace, and it feels so good so much better than anything our drinking could have ever done for us.
