Jesus will always be there when you need Him

Today's Turning Point with David Jeremiah

Always There

Then [ Jesus ] arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm.

There may be no greater compliment one can receive than this: “She is always there when I need her!” Do you have someone like that in your life? Is there anyone who could say that about you? Loyalty, presence, dependability, sacrifice—all those traits make a person someone who will be there when needed.

The disciples of Jesus—and that includes us—had someone in their lives like that. His name was Jesus. On two separate occasions Jesus was absent from their lives when they got into trouble on the Sea of Galilee. Once, Jesus was asleep in the boat and not aware a storm had arisen, so the disciples felt alone (Mark 4:35-41). Another time they were alone—crossing the Sea while Jesus remained behind (Mark 6:45-52). In both instances, Jesus entered the scene when things were at their worst and calmed the seas. Preparing to depart the earth, Jesus promised the disciples He would always be with them (Matthew 28:20), keeping that promise by “working with them” (Mark 16:20).

Jesus will always be there when you need Him. Trust Him to work with you in your hour of need. Let Him reveal Himself in His own way.

The presence of God in the flood is better than a ferry boat.
C. H. Spurgeon
