Seek the Lord

Seek the Lord

Matthew 6:33 "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you."

This morning, when we rose from hopefully a good night's rest, did we start our conversation with the Lord? Have we told Him how much we love Him? Did we thank Him for so great a salvation? Have we honored Him in prayer?

Psalm 63:1 "O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is"

Pray for our family members
Pray for the body of Christ's members
Pray for the lost that we know
Pray for God's perfect will to be done in our lives
Pray for the filling of the Holy Spirit
Pray that God will use us today
Pray that we will rest in the finished work of our Lord and Saviour Christ Jesus
Please let the Lord feed you with Bread of Life this very moment

That is the verse that came to mind when I saw the title.

When I was using, I only sought Him in the troubled times. When you are drinking and drugging, you are on your own, you block God from entering your life to help. When I was using, and got the help (which we often think we deserve) we go back to doing the same old, and wonder how we got there.

God helped me, why am I back here. One is too many, a thousand isn't enough. I could stop, but couldn't stay stopped, until I found the spirituality of the AA/NA program.

God isn't selective, so why should I select what I want to turn over. If I select only what I want to turn over, my life is unmanageable.

I love this forum, just joined and not sure how it works yet.
Am Mary Ann from Alberta, Canada.
I am looking forward to being part of this group.
Love reading these Scriptures - I needed that this morning.
keeping my granddaughter overnight and been rushing this morning and
it was great sitting down and seeing all these beautiful Words of God.

I am a widow, have 2 kids and 3 grandkids, am retired and spend a lot
of time on my puter. I am in Al anon, OA, coda and adult children but
the only f/f meetings I have to go to here are Al Anon.
Going to read some more. Mary Ann

So glad you shared with us Mary Ann, hope you will continue to come and share your journey with us.

I am from Ontario, Canada. I qualify for the same fellowships as you and go to Al-Anon meetings when I can. I am also a recovering alcoholic and prescription drug addict because of chronic pain, they had been a long-time part of my life. I was given Valium at 16.
