Intro

Hi everyone - my name is Ron and I'm an alcoholic; actually beer is my drug of choice. My sobriety date this time is Feb 24, 2009. My home group is Before and After at Lillian St, Benton, AR. I could quit drinking, which I did so many times - but I couldn't stay sober. I had hepC so a practitioner sent me to a meeting. It took a sponsor and a lot of meetings before I could admit that I was powerless over alcohol. I came to believe in a power greater than myself could restore my sanity - did the same thing over and over, expecting different results.
Anyway, I trust God, I cleaned house, and I try to help others. I'm still 12 steps away from another drink.

Y'all have a great week ...:11:

Hey Ron, :17: It is great hearing from you! Beer was my drug of choice in the end also. I use to drink hard liquor but went to beer thinking and saying I could handle that. Not. lol Anywhos, I hope you will continue to come and share with us here. Have a great Monday! :)

Smiling, I didn't like beer so I couldn't be an alcoholic. It took a long time to register, it isn't what you drank or how much you drank, it was what it did to you when you did drink, whatever it may be. I fell in love with Coca-Cola at the age of 14. It was forbidden and I was not allowed to drink it because my mother heard that there was coke in it. When I was 17 I left home, got a job and then I could buy it for myself. When I was drinking, you could take away my alcohol if you had to, but God help your soul if you took my Coca-Cola.

The substance is but a symptom of my disease, my problem is me.
