FINANCIAL WORRIES

Anyone who has had financial troubles knows how hard it is to sleep at night. We go to bed with it on our minds. We wake up wondering and worrying about how we are going to pay the mortgage or other bills. And just when we stop thinking about it for a moment, that bill collector calls and sends us into worry again. Financial troubles can weigh a person down with worry if we allow it to do so. However, God tells us not to worry about anything but instead pray. Anything includes our financial burdens. When we give our burdens to Him, He will take the load off of us so we can focus on doing His will.

SCRIPTURE:
Matthew 11:28-30 "Then Jesus said, 'Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.'" (NLT)

ACTION STEPS:
1. Write down what worries you most.
2. List the reasons you worry.
3. Ask God to help you worry less.
4. Focus on His word for help.

PRAYER:
Dear Lord, help us remember today to come to You. You will teach us how to be at rest. You will show us how to stop the worry. You will give us rest. We know the things we worry about are only temporary. We know we spend too much time worrying about them when we should be reading Your word and focusing on You. Show us Your way and how to get out of this financial mess we are in. In Jesus' name. Amen.

REMEMBER:
If we want to stop worrying about financial issues, we need to turn our finances over to God.

God's word can help us find peace about our financial situation.

Putting God first in our finances will help us focus more on Him and less on our money.

God wants the firsts of our income. When we put Him first, He will work out the rest.

God tells us not to worry about anything. That includes our finances.

FOCUS:
Philippians 4:6 "Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done." (NLT)

God tells us not to worry about anything but instead to pray.
