Give Thanks

“Give thanks to the LORD. ...Remember the wonders he has done, his miracles, and the judgments he has pronounced.” Psalm 105:1,5

Thanksgiving is a time of quiet reflection on the past and a yearly reminder to each of us that God has always been so faithful and will continue to be faithful in the future. His goodness to us is brought to the forefront of our minds when we begin to count the many blessings that He has placed in our lives. When we look back over the year past and see the wonders that He has performed, not only in our lives, but in the lives of those around us, it should fill us with awe. When we make ourselves focus on the wonders, the miracle that have taken place in our lives, how can we help but to give thanks for all that He has done for us and through us? Life is brought into clear focus as all else fades into insignificance. The reality is that when we focus on the hardness of life, we can lose sight of the goodness of God. So instead, let us focus on all that God has done in our lives and his continuing faithfulness and then the hardships of life will fade. We can live a life of thanksgiving, giving praise to the Father for the wonders He has performed and will continue to perform in our lives.

Father thank You for Your faithfulness to us. Help us to focus on our blessings and to see what You are accomplishing through the trials of our life. Help us to see the miracles that are right in front of us. Help us to never lose sight of Your goodness. We thank You and praise You for who you are! Amen Quiet Waters
