Exception
 

Most of us who join recovery wished we were the exception. The one who would get the free pass that would allow us to do what's never been done somehow granting us the impossible. There is no such thing and that may be a good thing. It's not unusual for any of us to think there could be nothing worse than what we have. This may have been true at one time but now because of the program of recovery that's no longer true. The program provides for us a way to live with what we have without having to succumb to it. We could have all ended up with something else that doesn't offer this. Had we had to pick, one none of us would've picked what we got, but all who follow the program to recovery are grateful for the one we have.
