Default The Source of Life Under God

The Source of Life Under God

Do the pressures of life get to you like they get to me? You too have your mountains to climb and your battles to fight. You don't always win. Oh, perhaps you kid yourself into thinking that you always come out on top. But when you are alone with your thoughts, you too know the "agony of defeat."

At such times you can turn to the Bible. "And after you have suffered for a little, the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself perfect, confirm, strengthen and establish you" (1 Peter 5:10). The Bible is not some out-of-date book on the theory of religion. The Bible admits right away that we are going to have tough times. But the Bible also introduces us to God. God is not only the creator of the universe. He created you and me. He knows us well.

God freely gives us every good and perfect gift. For example, God will perfect you. That is, God will repair your life and prepare you to serve Him. Whether the repairs needed are physical, spiritual, or emotional. God will strengthen you. In other words, you will experience the indwelling power of God which comes from the Holy Spirit. God will not necessarily remove the tough circumstances of life from you. God will strengthen you to live through those circumstances.

But this promise is only for those who know God through Jesus Christ. You see, to experience the grace of God you must turn to Jesus Christ and away from your sin. You must ask God's forgiveness and you must follow Christ as the new Lord over your life. Then God promises to "perfect, confirm, strengthen and establish you." Daiily Wisdom
