Default Never Too Late to Change

Never Too Late to Change

Genesis 12:1-9: “The Lord had said to Abram, ‘Leave your country, your people and your father’s household and go to the land I will show you. … So Abram left…” (vv.1 and 4).

This unanticipated journey meant Abram and his family left all that was familiar and comfortable.

Although Abram did not know what he would encounter on his trip, he believed God would lead. God

asks those of us who try to do and make everything right to leave our self-destructive lifestyles and

head toward balance and freedom. The choice is up to us; we do not have to go.

Embarking on the journey means leaving our familiar attitudes and behaviors of perfectionism, performance/work addiction, and people pleasing. The trip will often be uncomfortable; we may have to leave some of our friends and family behind. God knows the way. He is our guide.

Lord, Abram started over again when he was seventy-five years old.
I guess it’s never too late to change.
Please go with me on this unfamiliar journey.
