Default God’s plan for our motivation

God’s plan for our motivation by Alive to God

What motivates you1 Thessalonians 2:4 Our purpose is to please God, not people. He is the one who examines the motives of our hearts. (Living Translation)

This should be our motivation:

1. To please God!

1 Thessalonians 2:4 Our purpose is to please God, not people.

2. To love God!

Deuteronomy 6:5 Love the Lord your God with all your (mind and) heart and with your entire being and with all your might.

3. To trust God!

Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.

Our own motivations may stem from our past, hopes and longings, but God tells us not to lean on our own understandings. Instead we must trust Him with all our hearts and HE will make our paths straight.

It is not our motivations that will make our paths straight, but it is our dependence on God and HE who will step into our lives and make our paths straight and make us fruitful!
