Congratulations on your 6 years. You are so right, if we are not willing to stay clean and sober (soundness of mind), it won't happen. If we try to do it for others, most times it doesn't work, unless you find you want to do it for yourself too.

I was in denial about my alcoholism, I knew I was an addict, to trouble with that. It wasn't until I could accept that I used alcohol like I did all other substance, that I could stop and stay stopped. I was 2 years in recovery, still in denial, but realized that alcohol was a part of the package. It got to a stage in my life, to use is to die and I chose to live.
