Personal Retreat
Personal Retreat
My awareness of God grows in the Silence.
In my spiritual practice, I may need to move away from the crowd and find time alone with God. Whether I go to a formal retreat center, take a walk in nature, or create a few hours of quiet time at home, I find solace in my time with God.
I let this be my retreat from the activities of the world, a time to cleanse my mind and be nurtured by Spirit. In the Silence, I find a place of serenity where I know the Truth—the spirit of God dwells in me.
In the midst of my personal retreat, my awareness of God is magnified. I affirm God’s power, I am enfolded by God’s love, and I am guided by God’s light. Refreshed and renewed, I return to my activities with joy and enthusiasm.
For God alone my soul waits in silence; from him comes my salvation.—Psalm 62:1
