GIVE THANKS!

Shout with joy to the Lord, O earth!
Worship the Lord with gladness.
Come before him, singing with joy.
Acknowledge that the Lord is God!
He made us, and we are his.
We are his people, the sheep of his pasture.
Enter his gates with thanksgiving;
go into his courts with praise.
Give thanks to him and bless his name.
For the Lord is good.
His unfailing love continues forever,
and his faithfulness continues to each generation.
Psalm 100

Shout to the Lord is my favorite praise chorus. It is as though the moment I hear the introductory chords I enter into worship immediately. It is like a call to arms for me to enter into praise for my Lord! So, when I read this passage that happened without the music. How about you?

Today is Thanksgiving. In many homes there will be much eating, laughing, and shouting -joyfully. Unfortunately, in many homes there will be little food, little laughter, and a lot of shouting, but without joy.

We belong to God. That is something to be thankful for. However, with the privilege of belonging to Him comes the responsibility to share His love with others and acknowledge to them that Jesus is Lord and that He loves them with an unfailing love. This will bless His name.

Enter into His courts with praise today and then pray for those who feel that they have nothing to be thankful for. Open yourself to be the answer to their prayers if God leads them to you. You just might receive a blessing that is beyond your imagination!

Father, we do praise You and thank You today for the joy of Jesus, for the gift of life everlasting through Him, and the hope that we will spend eternity with You singing praises to Your name forever! Hallelujah! The Well
