Many of us will ask when we're considering joining recovery what's in it for me, what do I get out of this, if I do join, and it's natural for all of us all to want to know this. Unfortunately for all of us what we're told usually has no appeal to any of us, and we'll all wonder why anyone would ever want to join recovery to begin with. Equally as unfortunate for all of us is the real reason that all of us are here in recovery and that is because there is nowhere else for any of us to go. As soon as we all are able to realize this then recovery has a new meaning for all of us. We're all here in recovery as a way for all of us to be able to save ourselves, and if any of us don't want to be in recovery we're all free to try to find something else that can do this for us, but keep in mind that many of us have died from trying to find this, and that all of us who are in recovery don't have to worry about this because recovery has been able to do just that for all of us. It saves all of us from ourselves and nowhere else will any of us ever be able to find something else that can do this for us, but recovery can and does for all of us who are in it.
