Default What makes you happy?

My worst day in recovery far exceeds my best day before I found the program. I love that I have freedom of choice. That I don't have bad days even though I do have bad moments in a day.

I enjoy the simple things in life. I have always been a reader, thanks to recovery I am more aware of what I am reading and have a wider range of authors that I like. I love music. I no longer just listen to one kind of music, I listen to many formats and many different artists. I love that I can see the little things around me and appreciate them. For me, I am glad when I can wake up in the morning, live my day without picking up and using people, places and things to get through that day, give thanks at light grateful for another day.

I am grateful that I don't have to take on what is not mine and as a result I don't have to carry the extra burdens of the world around me that I use to carry. Freedom to be me makes me happiest of all.

Didn't know what made me happy when I came into recovery, I was so busy living my life through other people. It was a journey in and of itself to find, what made me happy and find my own likes and dislikes.
