In AA, there is a saying that says, "I have yet to meet a stranger."
My sponsor use to tell me, "You are only half a handshake." I offer it, and it is up to the other person as to whether they accept it.
When I meet new people, I ask them, "Do you do hugs?"
It doesn't matter what their motive is, it is mine that has to be examined.
