HAVE PATIENCE

Many of us grow more and more aggravated the longer we have to wait. If lines are too long, we either grumble about having to wait or we just leave. If our computer is slow, we get upset that it is taking too long. If we are waiting on someone, we lose patience and may get annoyed that they are late without thinking about the reason why. Patience isn’t always easy but when we have courage and wait patiently for the Lord to respond to our prayers, He will teach us to be more patient in other areas of our lives. He will turn our impatience into love for others.

Psalm 27:14 “Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.” (NLT)

Dear Lord, this world is so fast-paced that it is hard not to become impatient with others. It is hard not to get aggravated when things don’t happen quick enough for us. It is hard not to get annoyed with others when they don’t act fast enough for us. Help us to begin our patience with You, Lord, knowing You will give us courage and wisdom to be patient with others as well. For when we focus on You, our impatience in others will turn to encourage and love for them. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

We must have patience with others in order to be a better witness to them.

We must have patience with others in order to show God’s love to them.

We must have patience in order to give God the glory in all things.

We must have patience in all things – even when things are not going our way.

We can have patience when we put our focus on God and not ourselves.

James 5:8 “You, too, must be patient. Take courage, for the coming of the Lord is near.” (NLT)
