THE HOLY SPIRIT

Most of the time when we purchase something new, we find the directions or instructions inside the box so we can have some guidelines on the best way to put together or use our product. Without these guidelines we may not use our new purchase properly or fully as it was intended to be used. After we are cleansed by the blood of Jesus and have become new believers, we need instructions and guidance as well. Otherwise, we will quickly go back to our old way of living. God’s Holy Spirit helps us to know what we need to do to fully live for God.

SCRIPTURE:
Ephesians 4:23-24 “Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. Put on your new nature, created to be like God—truly righteous and holy.” (NLT)

ACTION STEPS:
1. List ways you can learn more about the Holy Spirit.
2. Write down how the Holy Spirit can guide you in your life.
3. Pray asking God to help you submit to Him daily.
4. Trust in Him to guide you and give you the daily instruction you need.

PRAYER:
Dear Lord, guide us today with Your Holy Spirit. Create in us a new heart and mind so we are living for You in all we do. We know we can do nothing without You. Help us today to live in obedience to You, to look for ways to give You glory and be grateful in all things. We need You in order to live. Cleanse and empty us from all wrongdoing and allow Your Holy Spirit to work through us. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

REMEMBER:
We need God’s Holy Spirit for direction and guidance every day.

John 6:63 “The Spirit alone gives eternal life. Human effort accomplishes nothing. And the very words I have spoken to you are spirit and life.” (NLT)

When we become believers of Jesus Christ, we become controlled by the Holy Spirit of God who begins to live in us.

FOCUS:
Romans 8:9a “But you are not controlled by your sinful nature. You are controlled by the Spirit if you have the Spirit of God living in you.” (NLT)

We need to allow God’s Holy Spirit to guide and direct us today so we may live fully for God.
