Default TOPIC OF THE WEEK, WORDS THAT BEGIN WITH 'B'

B is for Boundaries. Set boundaries, respect yourself. It doesn't mean you don't love, it is about caring for you.

Boundaries can be set in degrees, on size doesn't have to fit all. An outer boundary for the people in your life, an inside boundary for friends and some relations, and a closer boundary for close family and relationshiips, and they are adjustable.

You will find that some people ignore them, tramp all over them, step over them, and they have to be reinstated, reinforced, and made to stand up against abuse (mental, emotional, and physical), disrespect, and people who always get into your face and your business.

B is for "Bite Me!" I represents a change in attitude, which aids recovery. It is one thing to put the cork in the bottle, but another thing to continue acting out in your disease.

Remember when we said we had a drink, when in fact it was one bottle, not one glass.

Be is for "Be." Through our Higher Power, all things are possible, we can be whoever He needs us to be. Sometimes I think He has more faith and trust in me than I can find within myself, and that is when I pray and ask for help to:

Strong

Courageous

a witness

Patient & Tolerant

What ever He needs me to be.

B is for Boundaries. Without them, I am not respecting myself as a person. Respect is something that is earned, without self-respect, I can not expect to get it from others. They show respect and they give it.

Be is for Believe. Whatever your belief, nurture it by feeding it, affirming it, sharing, yet ever open to others and respect others in their belief.

Quote:
2 Corinthians 3:17
Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
New believers often struggle with faith, and there are many Bible verses about questioning your faith.

Quote:
Hebrews 11:1
Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.

B is for Bland/Bright. I have freedom of choice. I can choose what side of me I portray to the world. Do I wear recovery well or do I hide it under a bushel?

Remember that song we learned in Sunday School? This little light of mine, I am going to make it shine.
