Default Topic of the Week, words that begin with XYZ

Y is for Yet. If you haven't been there yet, keep using and you will find yourself there and beyond. It is a progressive disease that makes us say "Yes" when in in fact, we know we should say, "No!"

Z is for Zip. Zip your lip if you have nothing to say that is good, keep it to yourself.

Zip off to a meeting if you need an attitude adjustment.

X is for X-Ray. Recovery is an inward journey. Look within to see what needs to be healed, changed, revised, forgiven, resolved, and rethought. We heal from the inside out, not the outside in.

Take a look inside. Does the inside match what is showing on the outside. What is being reflected from within. Is your beauty skin deep or does it radiate from within and allow others to catch a glimpse of your connection to your Higher Power.

Y is for Yesterday. Yesterday is gone, you can't change it. Stay and live in today. When we keep looking over our shoulder at yesterday, we miss out on today.

Z is for Zero. When our score card read Zero, then we became willing to reach out and ask for help. Generally AA and other fellowships were the last ones we were ready to reach out to. The old stigma is still prevalent, especially for women.

Y is for Yellow. Yellow means caution. I try to do a Step Ten each day, sometimes during the day, to see where I am heading and whether I need to change direction. Just because some place feels right, doesn't mean it is, it could be complacency. It can also mean we are stuck in a rut and need to get out of our pattern, which has become old, and we need to find something new to challenge ourselves. Just because you haven't tried something yet, doesn't mean you can't do it.

Z is for Zest. Do you have new zest for life? A new outlook on life with courage and motivation to face each day.
