Shadowsindian's Poetry

When I came to the meadow's I was very lonely.
It was all I could do to go through the day
without feeling so disconnected,
that I felt that God would never help me.
I would sit in the smoke shack and look out at the mountians,
trying somehow to believe that I was here for a reason.

Not knowing what I was to do;
I felt that my higher-power would give me a sign.
Something so spiritual that I would just know
that it was from Him.
When, all of a sudden I felt someone was there with me.
What I saw next was the face of an Indian Chief
that looked as if he had been to battle,
like some of us had been with our addictions.

He was looking up to the sky with a solemn but serene face.
You would have to catch the sun at just the right time
and the shadows darkening in just the right places.
He wore a headdress that is a symbol of leadership.
His nose a little distorted from all of the blows received.
His tribe all gone like the family I left behind.
He made me feel like he was there with me,
to help me make a connection with my higher-power.

I am here to help you come...
"OUT OF THE SHADOWS".
