I am a new member here. I have had lots of troubles staying clean and sober from benzodiazepines. They are really nasty pills to come off of.

MajestyJo 03-07-2014 05:30 PM

Welcome Tessie. So glad your found us, there is a lot of recovery material here. The substance is but a symptom of our disease. For me it was the thinking and issues that lead me to reach out time and again. Have you been to AA or NA. My last AA sponsor was a heroin and she found NA a trigger, so using was not an option, so she went to AA, where the 12 Steps originated.

Feel free to ask questions or respond to any post on the site.

Hi, I'm Wade, I'm an alcoholic and a drug addict. 17 days into my 5th attempt. Happy to be here (channeling George Burns): Hell, I'm happy to be anywhere!

Welcome Richard and Wade. So glad you made the decision to join our family. Hope you will continue to come and share your journey with us.

The spider says go within. What a tangled web we weave when we practice to deceived. We need to get honest, open our minds, and willing to go to any length to stay clean and sober in today.

Hello, my name is Misael ,as of now I feel really bad because of my dependency to alcohol,I need help to recover, hopefully I will find it in others ,thank you.

MajestyJo 03-14-2014 03:42 AM

Welcome Cuba, thank you for signing in, sharing, and making the decision to join our family.

We do this one day at a time, just for today, I choose not to use and abuse people, places and things. Alcoholism is a mental obsession and an allergy to the body, we don't metabolize alcohol and other drugs the way others do. It is a thinking disease. I would suggest AA, it worked for me. After going to AA, I could stop and stayed stopped.

Hope you will continue to come, read all the related literature, and pray that you find the willingness to quit and keep coming, so you don't have to come back.
